Kapha Body Type- Water and Earth
Kapha means "that which sticks things together". A famous Ayurvedic text defines the characteristics of this body type: heavy- both water and earth are heavy elements; cold; soft; oily, offering lubrication; sweet; firm, offering immunity; and slippery.
The force that keeps water and earth from separating
Kapha is the conceptual balance of water and earth; structure and lubrication. One can visualize the Kapha force as the inspiring force to keep the water and earth from separating.
For example, if we take a pot, fill it to the half with water and then add sand to it, the sand will gradually sink to the bottom of the pot. It separates from the water. The only way to keep the sand in equilibrium with the water is by moving the mixture continuously. The Kapha force can be visualized as this moving energy in our body.
How do they look?
Women with more Kapha in their constitutions are likely to be of larger proportions, with a vigorous structure and padded joints, with large and broad chests, sometimes overlarge.
Their complexion is fair and bright: skin is soft, shiny and oily; it is also cold and pale; hair is thick, dark and wavy. Their eyes are dense and attractive.
As usually women with this constitutional type have regular appetites. They have slow digestion, so they tend to eat less. They crave spicy, bitter and astringent food. Sleep is noisy and prolonged.
They are…
Kapha women tend to be tolerant, open-minded, forgiving and loving: however, they also reveal traits of insatiability, attachment, envy and possessiveness. Their comprehension is slow but definite: once they understand something, that knowledge is retained.
They are stable and calm in thought, speech and action, and are easy-going and supportive in relationships. There is an element of steadiness to their step, a quality of serenity in their smile.
They are more independent, need less outward stimulation than do the other types and they have a mild, gentle, and essentially simple approach to life.
Kapha women tend to be wealthy. They earn money and are good at holding on to it.
